Communications & Special Projects Associate




The National Council of Textile Organizations (NCTO) is seeking a creative, self-starter to develop and execute media projects, manage NCTO’s social channels, and provide general administrative assistance to the NCTO CEO and team in their work on behalf of the U.S. textile industry. 


The NCTO Communications & Special Projects Associate will be responsible for the creation and execution of social media campaigns for all major social platforms (FB, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram). This individual will be expected to maintain NCTO’s digital media presence by regularly posting content to NCTO’s social channels and engaging with NCTO’s social audience, as well as like-minded accounts. They will be responsible for developing a social media calendar with initiatives designed to amplify industry news, achievements, and talking points with a goal of growing NCTO’s social audience and presence. Further, the Communications & Special Projects Associate will apply writing and creative skills to a broad range of mediums, including press releases, blog posts and other content-based materials for a broad audience and work collaboratively with the communications team.


Additionally, they will be responsible for assisting the NCTO CEO with general administrative tasks such as meeting schedules, travel arrangements and document management. They will be expected to be an organized point of contact on these issues who responds and completes tasks efficiently and with accuracy. Further, the associate will work with NCTO team on high priority projects designed to advance key membership-related tasks.


The NCTO Communications & Special Projects Associate must have excellent communication and organizational skills, especially in monitoring progress through data analysis and identifying opportunities for growth. They must exhibit strong digital and social media literacy. The individual should understand the social media sphere, both the big-name platforms and developing niches, and be able to craft sincere and timely content to produce viral engagement. Our ideal candidate is a social media enthusiast with experience in copywriting, graphic design, and digital content creation.
